Duetle is run by the Duetle team. We collect as little as we can. There are no accounts and no ads. The game itself sets no tracking cookies; Google Analytics may (see Analytics).
What stays on your device
- Your games and stats are saved in your browser's local storage, so a refresh doesn't lose your progress. Clearing your browser data deletes them.
- If you unlock the archive, we set one cookie containing your restore code and a signature, so our server can check your purchase. It isn't used for anything else. "Remove from this device" in the archive deletes it.
Daily results
When you finish today's puzzle, your result (the puzzle number, your guesses and whether you found both words) is sent to us with a random ID created on your device, so each device is counted once. We use these results to show how many people played and how many found both words. The ID isn't linked to your name, email, purchase or anything else about you.
Analytics
We use PostHog in cookieless mode to count visitors and understand how the game is played (for example, how many people finish a puzzle or share a result). It stores nothing on your device. PostHog processes your IP address and browser details to count unique visitors without identifying you; we don't receive your IP address and don't combine this with any other data.
We also use Google Analytics to measure visits (for example, how many people visit and from which countries). It sets cookies to tell visits apart. In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, these cookies are only set if you agree in the consent message. See how Google uses this information.
Purchases
Archive purchases are processed by Stripe, under its own privacy policy. We never see your card details. We receive the purchase details Stripe shares with sellers (such as your email address and payment status) so we can unlock the archive, check refunds and help with support. Your restore code is stored with your payment in Stripe.
Hosting
Netlify keeps standard server logs, such as IP addresses and requested pages, for security and reliability.
